2010 Founders’ Scholarship Fund
Purpose: To provide financial assistance to offset college expenses. Funds awarded will be used for college tuition & fees.
Goal: To award two $1,000 college scholarships to two students who will be attending college in the Fall Semester of 2010 and/or Spring Semester of 2011.
Selection Process: Open to students attending college for the Fall Semester 2009 and/or Spring Semester 2010. Must be a son or daughter of a DFW NAHREP member in good standing, or student must be a Tarrant County resident. Selection for the 2010-2011 DFW NAHREP Founders’ Scholarship Fund Scholarship will be based on the following criteria.
- Completed application form (if handwritten, please print legibly)
- Letter of Application addressed to the Scholarship Committee. The letter should contain a brief explanation of career goals and biographical (background) information. Please identify any relation you may have to a current DFW NAHREP Board Member.
- Two letters of recommendation from choice of high school teachers, counselors, administrators, employers or an individual with significant knowledge of applicant’s experience and involvement.
- An official and recent academic transcript
- Personal Essay. In your essay, please answer the question: “How have I made a positive difference” or "How will I make a positive difference".
The committee may require a personal interview with a finalist.
Deadline for the application is Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered.
